2010 IN-SEASON ANNOUNCEMENTS:
On Tuesday, 8/24,we traveled to Gaston Christian for the opening of the conference competition. All of the conference teams were present except for Hickory Grove. In addition we had two guest teams, Gaston Day and Davidson Day, bringing the total teams to eight. It was a hot day and the course was hard and a bit confusing, but our kids did well. In the two-mile Middle School race, Jack Cogdill led our team, finishing second in a field of fifty-nine runners. Next, the 5K high school men’s race was won by Stephen Dillon in a time of 19:23. Our team finished 3rd out of the eight team field. Finally, in the 5k women’s race, Anna Haines led the way with a first place finish in a time of 21:44. The women’s team also took first in the team standings. |
