The CDS High School Parent/Student Handbook has been updated. Again, pay particular attention to the changes in italics.

The CDS Athletic Handbook has also been updated for the 2010-2011 school year.

Summer Reading for 2010-2011

Below you will find the ENGLISH Summer Reading Books and Assignments organized by course. NOTE - the student should presume that he/she will be enrolled in the requested English class unless changes are confirmed by the Guidance Office.

It is the SOLE responsibility of the STUDENT to ensure that the correct Summer Reading Assignments are completed if a schedule change occurs during the summer.

Summer Math

The current CDS students were given copies of their summer math packets in class at the end of the 2009-10 school year. Additional copies of these packets will be available in the High School Office by June 1st.

NEW-TO-CDS high school students will have these math packets mailed to them early in June. Additional copies of these packets will be available in the High School Office by June 1st.

Attention Rising 9th Graders and New High School Students!

Our online laptop order page is now up and running if you would like to purchase one of our two supported laptop packages for the coming school year online.

To order online, please click HERE and then click on the “Create an Account” tab to create your individual user account.  You will then be able to review both of the supported laptop packages (the Toshiba M-780 Tablet and the HP 5102 Mini Netbook) as well as optional extras and upgrades for both packages.

You can also order by phone at Richards Computer 1-800-969-5355.  Please ask for Dave Haun and let him know that you are a Covenant Day Family.

Whether you order online or by phone, your credit card will not be charged until the unit ships to Covenant Day in late July.

Windy Gap Volunteers Needed

As many of you are aware the high school will be traveling to Windy Gap the day school starts.  For this retreat to flow smoothly the school needs to take around 30 volunteers with us in addition to the contingent of teachers and staff that we already have.  These volunteers have the wonderful and exciting job of cooking and serving the food that we eat as well as cleaning the dishes that we use.  Sounds like a familiar job, right?  The parent volunteers have a cabin to themselves, men on one floor, women on the other, so that you don't have to stay with the students or have any supervisory responsibilities.  For those who have gone in the past, it has always been a great time of fun and fellowship.    The dates of the trip are August 18, 19, and 20, that's a Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  We will be home by the time school dismisses on Friday.  If you have this time free I would ask that you consider serving our high school students in this fashion.  If you would like to volunteer, or if you have any questions, send me an email at: bjameson@covenantday.org.
